Exceedingly Abundant - Big Dreams and Big Plans - Springville, AL
Who has been following me on social media?? If you have, then you know that last weekend I was able to officially open my brand-new studio!! Oh my yall, I am shouting from the rooftops! While I have loved my in-home cozy and quaint studio, I knew that I wanted to be able to offer my clients more. I have always loved bright and airy photography, but I was just not able to offer that in my in-home studio.
This past weekend was literally a dream come true. Years of prayers and honestly, years of hard work. To be honest, there were times along the past ten years that I thought I might give up on this dream. How could I possibly juggle being a wife, mother to twins, pediatric nurse practitioner, and manage a photography business. Oh, the days and nights I prayed and dreamed of something like this happening. The many tears I shed because I wanted it so very badly. Like, you know the one thing that you think about day and night? That’s how bad I wanted a studio.
I saw a sign one day that said building for rent. I took a chance and called the number. Little did I know, I met one of the kindest ladies. Someone willing to also take a chance on me. Meeting her was absolute fate. I’m telling you if it wasn’t for my husband and her convincing me, then I would still be in my little home studio. My husband Adam is and has always been one of my biggest cheerleaders. His encouragement throughout my photography journey has most definitely sustained me. I am also very thankful for the support of my family, friends and of course the support from my beautiful clients!
It has been so surreal. I have wanted it so badly for so long. But actually taking the leap of faith, now that was a different story. I have a lot of faith. If you ask me to pray for you, I can pray bold, big prayers. Somehow, I had forgotten that the God I pray to for you, is the also same one that can move mountains for me! I am human and I often let self-doubt and comparison creep in. Thoughts of not being good enough. Comparison with other photographers’ success. What if this fails? What if I don’t book a single session? Simply put, I was having stinkin thinkin! I know without a doubt that God has put this dream and passion in my heart. I am so excited for the big things in store! I don’t say this boastfully…trust me. This has been nearly an 11-year journey to get here and I am just so, so very thankful!
If y’all could have seen the inside of the building before we started construction. Oh my, it had yellow walls, drop tile ceiling, fluorescent lighting, lots of small rooms, and greenish blue carpet. Not to mention it smelled all kinds of funny! It is a totally different space. A can of white paint can work wonders on the ugliest of spaces! Ha!
We got the green light to move in on Thursday of last week. Lots of steps involved making sure everything was up to code, and licenses and insurance updated. We spent long days and nights there getting the space just perfect. I have just a couple of finishing touches left to do. This includes waiting for some beautiful canvases to come in that will transform my space into an art gallery! Oh my goodness I just love it! I love that everything is new, clean, and bright. It feels so peaceful and calming. I hope you feel the same way when you all walk in. I’m telling you, his timing and plans are ABUNDANTLY better than ours.
My sweet friend Christina and her husband Luke were my first clients to do a newborn session here. I will always remember them and this session. It was the culmination of dreams in the making…for both of us!
Welcome to the world baby Rosalie Grace. This sweet baby girl was born on February 3rd and she is so loved by her parents! I hope Christina and Luke love these beautiful photos as much as I do. I want them to remember every tiny little detail of Rosalie’s first week of life!
I am so blessed by you all and so thankful for all of the most kind well wishes! One of my favorite verses in the bible has been a rock throughout my life, I think this one fits perfectly for this piece of my story. Now all glory to God, who is able, through his mighty power at work within us, to accomplish infinitely more than we might ask or think. Eph 3:20
