While I am hosting newborn photography sessions, mothers often tell me how they wished they had done maternity photographs. I know that the last few months of pregnancy can be quite uncomfortable. Honestly, you may not totally love your body or the way you are feeling. I promise you will want to remember this time though. As crazy as it sounds, I did miss being pregnant after I had my girls. I wish I had taken many more pictures. Your body is about to do something miraculous. The journey that you are taking to become a mother, and a new family, most definitely deserves to be documented!
I was able to take photos of my sweet friend Chanley and her husband Rob Whitcomb. I have known Chanley for years as we work together at the hospital. I just love her so much! She has the sweetest soul. I can’t wait to see her as a mother. They are about to meet their sweet baby girl Sunny! She is already loved so much. Y’all should see her beautiful nursery! Chanley didn’t leave anything undone and oh my… the wardrobe that sweet Sunny already has! She is going to be the most stylish baby around!
There is something so special about documenting maternity photos. It’s in the waiting that one of life’s most precious gifts are about to unfold. It’s an incredible culmination of all of your hopes and dreams for this tiny new person that you are about to be responsible for. How will they look? What will their personality be like? What will make them uniquely them! Gosh, it feels like yesterday. I remember daydreaming about this with my twins. And just like that, in a blink of an eye, they are now 5 years old!
This is such a beautiful time to document the interactions between mom and dad in those final moments before welcoming their newest blessing. We put Rob to work and made him use a fan to give Chanley that lovely wind-blown hair! He had me cracking up the entire photo session! Rob was such a good sport and went along with everything we did! But can we just talk a minute about how gorgeous Chanley looks?! She is a beauty… inside and out!
Life is about to change for this sweet family in the best way! I could not be more excited for them. Chanley and Rob’s hopes for sweet baby Sunny are that she will be a light to those around her, that she will lead by example, stand up for what she believes in and love fiercely. I cannot wait to see the Whitcomb family story unfold!
